Attending the 2004 Parliament of the World's Religions in Barcelona, Spain, fulfilled a lifelong dream for Leberman.

Leberman has been engaged in inter-religious dialogue since her days as a religious studies student at the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Firmly rooted in her own tradition, she has a passion for learning about the traditions and beliefs of those who follow other religions.

The parliament introduced participants to the diversity, richness and nuance of the world's religions in an environment where dialogue was encouraged and proselytizing was discouraged.

Leberman's experience at the parliament broadened her awareness of the beliefs, traditions and issues facing those of other traditions.

It also allowed her to plumb the depths of her own religion.
